What is overselling in reseller hosting
Overselling is a strategy where you create packages whose combined limits add up to more than your total reseller allowance — betting that most clients won't use their full quota at once.
How it works
For example, with 100 GB of space you might sell twenty 10 GB packages (200 GB on paper), because in practice most sites use only a fraction of their limit.
The trade-off
- Pro: you can offer generous limits and host more clients.
- Con: if too many clients use their full quota, you'll hit your real limit and need to upgrade.
