How to back up your website in cPanel

Regular backups mean you can always roll back if something goes wrong. Your BPHOST plan includes server-side backups, but it's smart to keep your own copy too.

Download a full backup

  1. Log in to cPanel and, under Files, click Backup (or Backup Wizard for a guided version).
  2. Click Download a Full Account Backup.
  3. Leave the destination as Home Directory and click Generate Backup. You'll get an email when it's ready, then download it from the same page.

Back up part of your site

You can also download a partial backup — your Home Directory (files) or a single MySQL database — from the same Backup page. Handy before making a big change.

Restoring

To restore, use the Backup Wizard, or open a support ticket and the BPHOST team can restore from our server backups for you.
