How to install a free SSL certificate

An SSL certificate adds the padlock and https:// to your site, encrypting traffic and building trust. BPHOST includes free AutoSSL certificates.

AutoSSL (automatic)

In most cases SSL is issued automatically once your domain points to BPHOST — there's nothing to do. To check, log in to cPanel and open SSL/TLS Status: domains with a green padlock are secured.

Trigger it manually

  1. In cPanel, open SSL/TLS Status.
  2. Tick your domain(s) and click Run AutoSSL.
  3. Give it a few minutes, then refresh to confirm the certificate is active.

Next step

Once SSL is active, make your site load over https for everyone — see our guide on forcing HTTPS. Trouble issuing a certificate? Make sure your domain points to BPHOST, then open a ticket.
