How to manage your DNS records
DNS records control how your domain works — where your website loads, where email is delivered, and more. You can manage them in cPanel.
Opening the Zone Editor
- Log in to cPanel and, under Domains, click Zone Editor.
- Click Manage next to your domain.
Common record types
- A record — points a name to an IP address.
- CNAME — points a name to another name (for example www to your domain).
- MX — tells the internet which server handles your email.
- TXT — used for SPF, DKIM and domain verification.
Adding a record
Click + Add Record, choose the type, fill in the details and save. Changes take a little while to propagate. If you're unsure, ask our team before changing MX or A records — mistakes can interrupt your site or email.
