How to manage spam filters

BPHOST uses Apache SpamAssassin to keep junk mail out of your inbox. You can fine-tune how aggressive it is.

Turn on and adjust filtering

  1. Log in to cPanel and, under Email, click Spam Filters.
  2. Make sure Spam Filtering is enabled.
  3. Use the Spam Threshold Score to set sensitivity — a lower number is stricter.
  4. Optionally enable Auto-Delete to bin obvious spam automatically.

Allow or block senders

You can add addresses to an Allow List (never marked spam) or a Block List (always blocked) — handy if a trusted sender keeps getting filtered.

Legit mail going to spam?

Add the sender to your Allow List, or raise the threshold slightly. Still having trouble? Let us know.
