How to create an autoresponder

An autoresponder sends an automatic reply to anyone who emails you — perfect for "out of office" or "thanks, we'll be in touch" messages.

Set one up

  1. Log in to cPanel and, under Email, click Autoresponders.
  2. Click Add Autoresponder.
  3. Choose the email account, then write a subject and message.
  4. Set a start and stop time (or leave it running) and click Create.

Tips

  • Keep it short and say when to expect a real reply.
  • Use the %from% and %subject% tags to personalise the reply.
  • Remember to switch it off (set a stop time) when you're back.
